Today I have a simple card I made for a co-worker, who is expecting her second child. I wanted a growing family theme.

A Ribbon Dress

Today starts the newest challenge at Die Cuttin' Divas and this week it is
ANYTHING GOES!!
This card was all created based on some inspiration I got at my Mom's house. She received a card for her anniversary with this dress on it.
I asked before I tore this apart to bring home, thinking... I can do something like this. I went looking for a dress cut to play with and in the end came selected the simple dress off the Country Life Cricut Cartridge. After cutting the dress I used some solid silver ribbon to create a belt and bustle for the dress. The flowers were the final touch on the belt.
After creating the dress I made a card for it to go on. I cut a black and g silver base and added some embossing. The final touch for this card was the great sentiment from the Inner Princess stamp set by Pink By Design.
This was such a fun card to create.  It was just right to share with you for an Anything Goes challenge.  I hope you will join us. Make sure to check out the rest of the DT inspiration this week at Die Cuttin' Divas
Supplies:
- Country Life Cartridge - Mary Jane dress pg 29
- Pink By Design - Inner Princess set
- Cuttlebug folder - swirls
- Recollections - Floral Embellishments

Fantabulous Cricut: Shape Card Challenge

Have you had your coffee yet this morning? Monday's often require the biggest jolt.  Maybe some inspiration form the Design Team at Fantabulous Cricut will help get you going and make you want to join us for this week's challenge.

Challenge #171
Shape Cards

For this challenge, I created this fun coffee mug card using the Cricut American Alphabet cartridge.
Not what you think this card will be when you weld two base shapes together to create the card! I really played around with the size of the card so it would fit into a 3 1/2 x 8 1/2 envelope. The trick to doing this I found is to make sure you have all the pieces and layers displayed before making them the size you want. That way the layers will match up better.
I selected a fun print as my coffee mug and added the embossed layer underneath for my heart. I felt that some hand stitching would really complete the look of the card.
On the inside, I added my leftover heart form my mug cut an this cute Pink by Design stamp. Hope you find some time to join us this week at Fantabulous Cricut and our Shape Card Challenge.

Supplies:
- DCWV Sunday Afternoon paper
- Cricut American Alphabet cartridge
- Pink By Design, You Are stamp set
- Cuttlebug folder from the Love Language set

I'm an Aunt! Again!

What a wonderful week it was. The weather is bearable (I do not do well in extreme heat!) and my sister gave birth to a healthy, 8lb, 8oz, little girl on Monday. My new niece was born basically at the same time Kate delivered in London!! Crazy!!
This is my sister's second daughter and I had to send gifts for baby and big sister.  I bought some clothes and a stuffed animal and made this fun cup for big sis.  Just a little bit of vinyl cut using the Birthday Cakes cartridge and it was all set.
I love the kiss cut that doesn't cut through the backing paper!
Hope your week was great and that this new one brings equal amount of smiles!

Christmas in July - Anything Christmas!

What a wonderful month it has been with all the fun Christmas in July projects all over the place and 4 great Saturdays of this fun hop.
I know I had a blast joining in each week and am so happy to have been a part of this. This week everyone on the hop is sharing a final fun holiday themed project. You should have arrived here from Maria at Stamp, Cut, Create!  If you just discovered this hop you can start at the top at Around the Block with Scrapalette.
For my project I decided to get a jump on my holiday scrapbooking. If you have hopped with us all month, you know my family will be in Disney for Christmas this year. I decided I would make the title page of the album I am planning for this trip.
I am going to be doing a Project Life style album for this trip...look at this cute album I had to have for this? Did you know that Project Life by Beck Higgins has 12 x 12 page holders?  What a smart company.  They have found a way to make scrapbooking easy and fun and yet they know many of us still like the 12 x 12 format. I knew this was the perfect was to start my album.
I started with my base. A stretched frame base from the Fancy Frames cartridge and this cute tree off Create-A-Critter 2. Next came my tree decorations.
I cut out a bunch of Mickey heads from the Mickey Font cart and using the Xyron sticker maker added them to my tree. I also cut a large rectangle for a photo (I did not glue this on in case I need to change the sizes when we pick pictures!)
The final touch was my title which I used my Silhouette to cut so I could have the whole thing in Walt Disney Script (yeah used both my machines for this project!!)  To say we are excited is an understatement!

Thanks so much for taking this journey with us. Remember their are some prizes up for grabs so leave your comment for a chance to win.

I am also linking up with the Hiding in My Craft Room Christmas in July Challenge that started today!

Summer Days with Project Life!

What a fun summer it has been.  I have really enjoyed spending time with my daughter and husband.I also have been enjoying Project Life. It is so simple to get started and so easy to add your own touches. Here are some of the pages I have recently finished.
First, we have a page I created from a week of "Girl Time!" My daughter and I got her first mani/pedi, enjoyed lunch at the library and attended a play with my cousin.
All the cards on this page are from the Project Life core kit, Honey edition by Lori Whitlock. I added text directly onto one of my photos before printing and small touch of Cricut with the title cut off the Paisley cartridge.
Next, you can see that my daughter and I went to Build-A-Bear Workshop with my best friend and her daughter. These cards are also from the Honey set.  I also added a stamp from Pink By Design's subway art.
The final two pages are from the 4th of July.  The cards for this came from the Holiday Edition Mini set. I kept this one really simple as well with some text on a picture and a cut off the Stand and Salute cartridge.
It feel great knowing these pages are completed.  I am glad I gave Project Life a try.  It is a great mix for me.

MerBear??

Today I wanted to share this cute gift bag I made for my daughter's friend. She had a party at a splash park, so my daughter thought a mermaid would be cute on the bag..until she saw the Teddy Bear Parade Cartridge and wanted that.Lucky for her this cart has such fun images I was able to give her both.
I started by cutting my bear rather large to fill up the bag space and then cut all the fun layers of the mermaid costume. I wasn't really feeling the harp so I left that off and went in search of an oyster cut for a pearl.
For the letters I selected one of my go to fonts, Cherry Limeade. Some people do not love the mix of lowercase and capital looking letters on this cart, but I think it looks great and with a touch (okay large touch ) of Stickles I think they look even better. Very fun.

Linking up to the 2 Creative Chicks: 3D challenge!!

- Teddy Bear Parade Cricut Cartridge- bear and outfit
- Cherry Limeade Cricut Cartirdge - letters
- Disney Dreams Com True Cartridge - shell in hand

- 2 words, "What's up?" (Pink By Design)

Hello to a new Paper Playtime Challenge

Welcome to a new Monday and a new challenge at Paper Playtime. This challenge is all about using your patterned papers.
Ch #15 Use Pattern Paper
Begins: Today July 22
Ends: Sunday, August 4th
Sponsors: The Robin's Nest & My Craft Spot
(Two great sponsors!!!)

I love buying paper..maybe a little too much.  This challenge was fun because I went right to a stack I love DCWV Spring Fling and selected different papers to play with.  I trimmed and joined the different patterns together and added a strip of burlap to create the base. I went back and added some gold ink around my flag and an additional pink layer with a stamped image from Pink By Design
Once the base was how I wanted it I went looking for the perfect sentiment for my empty space.  This lovely "hello" cut with the butterfly is form the Lyrical Letters Cricut cartridge. After I put my blue layer on for the butterfly I decided I actually wanted it to sparkle so on went some Baby Blue Stickles.
Once this cut was on my bag I added four pearl stickers to the corners and a pink ribbon to finish my gift bag.  I do not know what will go inside or who it will go to because I am a little in love with the whimsy of the bag!  Please join us this week and explore your patterned papers with Paper Playtime.

A Sunday Silhouette Tip

I am loving all the fun things my Silhouette Cameo can do for me.  It cuts so great and allows me to cut some new fun images, but I am still learning all the great things I can do with my Cameo.  This week I learned about The "Ungroup" feature. It all started with perforated edges.

I don't like these on my projects. I hate the holes and often I find my cards not as sturdy when this type of edge is part of the cut. I prefer to score the creases for my folds myself. I had to find a way to get rid of them.  I went looking and found the answer in the help section of the Silhouette site.  I wanted to share it here as well.

Here is the card base I was cutting (for a very fun invite I can not share until August after the surprise!) See the dashed lines?  That is what I wanted to get rid of.
 Here's how.
1. Click on your image.
2. At the bottom of the screen you'll find several icons. The first two (circled below) are the group and ungroup buttons.
3. Click on the ungroup button and the image will look like this. each separate line will be highlighted in grey.
4. Click on each line you want to get rid of and delete.
5. Click on the group button so your image back together for re-sizing and cutting.
6. No your cards are ready to be scored with clean lines and not dashed slits.
I was so happy to find this i had to share it with you. For those who are Cricut users this is just like the hide/contour button that allows you to hide lines before cutting an image.

Thanks for stopping by. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Christmas in July: Ornaments

Welcome to Week Three of the Christmas in July Blog Hop. I enjoyed hopping along last week with the Christmas cards and this week we are sharing Christmas Ornaments. Hopefully you have arrived here from
If not and you would like to see all the ornaments you can go to the start of the hop at Scrapalette.
I thought it might be fun to make some simple holiday ornaments that could be used as gift tags or mailed in my holiday cards. That means they needed to be flat and durable so I decided to created a simple laminated ornament.
Using an ornament and snow globe cut both from Christmas Cheer I was able to weld together this snow globe base for my ornament. I added the snowy paper and cute snowman (also on Christmas Cheer). I was just about to place the whole pieced together design in a laminating pouch but something was missing.
SNOW
I  used my small hole punch and cut out a bunch of "snow" form scrap white paper.  I allowed it to lay all over my design before I laminated.
The final touch was to trim away the extra, punch a hole and add the ribbon.  I plan on making a few more of these to send to some of my favorite people this holiday season.  Thanks so much for hopping with us.  Remember there is a prize up for grabs this week and for joining us for all the week's.  This week you could win the Trim the Tree Cartirdge!

Your next stop in our hop this week is The Singing Shell.  If you get lost along the way the whole line-up will be posted at Scrapalette!!!  Thanks for joining us for another week!  See you next week for the last fun hop of our Christmas in July!

The whole line up in case!!
