Dr. Seuss Challenge with Die Cuttin' Divas

Happy Tuesday everyone. It is time for a new Die Cuttin' Divas challenge.  This week we are honoring Dr. Seuss and creating projects inspired by his books and characters. This one started out s a challenge for me until I thought of all the wonderful quotes I could take inspiration from.
I think this quote really speaks to me in a lot of ways and the puzzle piece idea just seemed to work for the card.
I started by adding my quote to my puzzle pieces - gotta love the print and cut option on my Silhouette.
Next finding the right papers and getting everything placed just right - this took 2 tries - okay 3!! Once it all was set I worked on the inside to add the missing piece and all was set.
I hope you will stop over to Die Cuttin' Divas and see what everyone created and get some ispriation for your own Seuss inspired card!!

Home Sweet Home with Die Cuttin' Divas Interesting Card challenge

Happy Tuesday everyone.  Hope you had an enjoyable weekend (I had the day off yesterday so still in weekend mode).  It is time for another fun challenge with Die Cuttin' Divas.  This week we want to see your odd cards - accordion, Trifold, Window, Shaped, Twisted, Easel etc. Just No STANDARD Rectangle or squares. Here is what  I created:
I found this great version of a tri-fold card in the Silhouette Store and loved the way it went together. The base cuts on one sheet of 12x12 paper and you can layer on papers and cuts as you want.
I decided to make a new home card and added some fun patterned papers and matching home cuts to the different flaps of the card.

I love the over all look of the card and it is a little different to give. It doesn't actually stay flat so i used a simple removable glue dot to hold it down.

Thanks so much for visiting with me today. I hope you get a chance to play along with our Odd card challenge at Die Cuttin's Divas.

You Make My Heart Glow Valentine

Happy Valentine's Day!
I hope you and your loved ones get to share a special moment together today. I wanted to share the simple and sweet Valentine's my daughter gave out to her class this year.
She went on Pinterest with me and selected this cute saying from all the cute ideas we found. Once she had the idea she helped me select a simple heart shape and a font to print and cut onto the heart. I got off easy this year because she did not make me go through every font!!
She selected the different shades of pink inks to use and make it look like it was fading and we printed it all out.  She asked for a backing layer so I cut those for her and the rest was all her.  She had such fun handing them out at school yesterday.
Have a wonderful day.

Valentine, You Are All That and a Bag of Chips

With only a few more days until Valentine's Day I thought I would share the Valentine's I have made for my co-workers this year.  This is the 5th year I have made a Valentine for each member of the staff at the school I work at.  This year I went without candy and created these fun tags instead.
I had seen all these fun sayings and wanted to play with them myself and finding the mini bags of chips was easy at my local Cost-Co.
I wanted each tag to have a slightly different look so I selected different backing shapes and fonts for each one (all listed below for you). I got to work using print on cut on my Cricut to create the images of each food to place on the tags.
I had success bringing in my own images for the nachos and popcorn.  I found some great png. images and they easily uploaded into the software.  I was happy everything cut so well.
Once all my tags were made (100 of them) it was easy to stick  them right on to the chip bags. they are all set for delivery tonight after school ends for a fun treat tomorrow.  Enjoy sharing love and hugs with your Valentines this year. Thanks so much for visiting.  I hope you will leave a comment and let me know what you think.

Hearts & Roses Photo Inspiration Challenge with Die Cuttin' Divas

It is a week for love. On Saturday people all over will wish others a happy Valentine's Day. At Die Cuttin' Divas we are taking our inspiration from love as well - at least that is my view of our inspiration photo for this week's challenge.
This week we are asking you to create a project inspired by the photo.  When I saw this I saw a ton of hearts and roses. The little jar of jam also made me feel a little homey and when I found my papers I knew it was what I wanted.
I found a great card base that included a framed heart. I cut extra frames for the inside of my card as well.
Of course I needed roses so I searched and found one I really liked for my card...you'll never guess where it was? On my Mickey & Friends cartridge!!  Love when I find images in places I never imagined looking.
Once I had everything cut out I knew I needed something so I added the banner with a simple sentiment stamp repeated a few times.
Thanks so much for joining Die Cuttin' Divas this week for our photo inspiration challenge.  Please stop by and leave the DT some love and we hope you get a chance to play along with us.

Dumbo the Flying Elephant

I am so thankful that I have found my way back to my craft room on a more regular basis. 2014 just was not my crafty year, but 2015 - I am enjoying creating so much more again.  I also am getting things finished.  Today I am sharing a layout from a Disney album...for a trip in October of 2011!
I have to ride the Dumbo ride every trip. To me it is a classic. In 2011 the walls were up and New Fantasyland was being built at the Magic Kingdom, so this was the last time I rode Dumbo in the old location.
I started with a very simple layering of paper and added some fun washi tape as a border.
I used some great cut files from Miss Kate Cuttables to complete my page. I tried to make it look like Dumbo in the photo was holding his feather that I cut out.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I welcome your thoughts and opinions.  Have a wonderful weekend.

Just for You Sketch Card with Die Cuttin' Divas

It is time for a new sketch challenge at Die Cuttin' Divas. Our sketch this week is great for any theme card so I went with a birthday theme.
I found these fun presents on the Yummy Imagine cartridge and with the print and cut feature on the Cricut Explore they cut just right. I cut 2 sets of them so I could layer them and pop one up. A simple and sweet sentiment was the final touch.
Thanks for visiting my blog today.  I love reading your thoughts on my projects. I hope you will join in the fun at Die Cuttin' Divas this week with our fun sketch.
