Inspire

Can you believe September is coming to an end tomorrow?  Not before we can celebrate this 5th Tuesday at Die Cuttin' Divas - the 5th Tuesday always means - ANYTHING GOES!
This year my daughter has joined the Inspire Dance Company at her dance studio. It is her first year on the competition squad so she was assigned a "big sister" to help her learn the ropes. This card was made for their reveal party a few weeks ago.
The logo of the studio is a dancer with sparkles coming out of her hand so I tried to recreate this using my Cricut. As luck would have it, the pixie dust from Tinkerbell and Friends printed onto my paper just right to act as the sparkles coming from the dancers hands.
I added an additional dancer on the inside with the note to my daughter's big sis. They are getting along great and my daughter is learning a lot about how to be a company member from her. Here's to a great dance year.

Enjoy the Fall

Fall is in the air and the leaves around here look like they are ready to start changing and make those beautiful colors appear. This week at Bitten By the Bug 2 we are creating projects that feature the word fall or Autumn. I decided to use an image from an Imagine cartridge.
I just love the colors of this "fall" and the matching leave cuts. Using print and cut images can be fun and the Cricut doe a great job with the images originally created for the Imagine machine. Below is how they looked before cutting
Once  I had everything cut I created a base for my card using some of the darker fall colors.  I wanted to add some extra features to the card so I embossed a strip and used a punch of lace on the bottom of the card.
I hope you can play along with us this week at BBTB2. Until next time have a great day.

- Enjoy the Seasons Cricut Imagine Cartridge - fall and leaves
- Cuttlebug Embossing folder from the Cindy Loo set

Cookie Love

Did you know that it is Pecan Cookie Day?  Our host this week at Bitten By the Bug 2, knew and so this week our challenge is to make a project with a cookie on it. Adorable right?
I actually just received some cookies as a gift so what a great opportunity to say thank you. I went looking for the right cookie cut and found this great cookie jar on the Sesame Street Friends cartridge and knew it would make a fun card.
A little welding (so remembered to flip one of my images so the card would match up right!!) and cutting and my card came together just right. I really love that I can turn so many different images into fun cards.

Have a great week!  Hopefully you will a chance to join us this week at BBTB2!!

Bugs and Kisses

Good day all. It is time for a new challenge at Die Cuttin' Divas.  This week we are having fun with puns. I decided it wold be fun to use puns on some new lunchbox cards for my daughter.
It is fun making small cards to fit into her lunchbox (she says she will never been too old for them...I hope so!) For this card I picked out my sentiment first and went searching for my bugs!!  I really liked this little lady bug on a leaf.
I need to make a bunch more lunchbox cards to add to my stash and this was a good start. Hope you can play along with our pun challenge at Die Cuttin' Divas.

Supplies:
- My Pink Stamper - Buggy Punnies stamp
- Live Simply Cricut Cartridge - lady bug on leaf

Site for Sore Eyes

Happy Monday everyone. Sometimes Monday's are a great day to let your mind wander and think of all sorts of crazy things. That is what our host, Maureen, at Bitten By the Bug 2 wants you to do this week.  The challenge she selected is...

Let Your Imagination Run Wild
Use an imaginary character (humanlike, animal or bug!)
What do you think of my fun monster? I wanted to do something super cute and fun and when I saw this guy pop up in my image search I knew he would work out just right.
Of course this fun paper and the perfect sentiment did not hurt and what would my monster be without googly eyes?
I just love that I found this cute stamp in my collection after I had already cut and glued my "disco monster" to his backing.
It all came together well and he is super fun right?  I hope you will get a chance to create with us this week at BBTB2. Thanks for visiting my bloggy home.

- Pink By Design - Spectacular set
- Spots and Dots 4x6 Cuttlebug embossing folder

Photo Shoot

Tuesday is here. That means it is time for a new challenge with Die Cuttin' Divas. This week we are going 3D - and I  do not mean with the glasses!!  We each created a 3D project to share. I made this fun mini-album

I found this cute cut from Lori Whitlock and knew it would be a fun one for a mini album. It was such a simple project to put together and I did not need any paper large than 81/2 x 11.
Here is the starting camera box. I have finally gotten into the habit of placing on my details before I create the box (so much easier but I always forget).
Once folded up and sealed shut I cut the card for the album (all part of the file) and used some metal circles to hold them together. I think I would add more pages based on how thick I can make it, but I am not sure what picture I will use for this so for now I just cut out 8.
It all fits together well. Thanks so much for visiting today.  I hope you will get a chance to join us in our 3D challenge this week at DCD.

Bon Appetit with Bitten by the Bug 2

Happy Monday and Happy Labor Day to all. This week our host, Kelly, at Bitten By the Bug 2 asked us to use cuts honoring different professions.  I decided to create this cute card for a friend.

I loved this cute chef from the Pop-Up Neighborhood cartridge and thought he looked so great on some polka - dotted background.

I admit I cut off part of his mustache that actually sticks out, but felt it looked okay this way with him in profile.

I loved the red on the scarf so selected that as my lettering choice. The words are from the First Few Years Cartridge.  This is a cart think I use more than any others lately. It  has some many great frame cuts and I always seem to find the right words and phrases as well.

My little chef was just right to say thanks to someone for welcoming us to a wonderful meal. I hope you will join us as we celebrate Labor Day this week with BBTB2

Supplies:
- Pop-up Neighborhood Cricut Cartridge - chef
- The First Few Years Cricut Cartridge - bon appetit

All Dogs Go to Heaven

Good day to everyone. It is the first of September and the first Tuesday of the month and that means - a new sketch from Die Cuttin' Divas. I had a sad reason to create my card, but I am happy with how it turned out...
Sadly, a good friend lost their dog recently so I wanted to send a card to them letting them know I was sorry for their loss. The sketch for this week was just right for my card.
I started with my base and added some embossing to the circle part of the sketch.
I made my puppy angel and added him on with some large zots so he would be popped up a little.
I created the polka dot accents by placing washi tape onto some white paper and then used a hole punch to cut them out.
I am happy I can create a kind cad at times like these for the people I care for.  I hope you all are well and get a chance to join in our sketch challenge this week at Die Cuttin' Divas.

Supplies:
- Sweethearts Cricut Cartridge - puppy
- Once Upon a Princess Cricut Cartridge - angel outfit halo
- Cuttlebug Cross My Heart Embossing folder
