Happy Tuesday! Happy Birthday as well (to all those celebrating in September) which is what we want to celebrate at Die Cuttin' Divas this week. Show us your birthday projects.
I made this fun birthday card to have on hand for upcoming birthdays (my supply was getting a little low). In order to get started I decided to just open a new package of paper and use only those colors for my card before I sorted the colors into my stash.
I like how these colors go with each other so well - and the card could be for a man or a women. Once I had my color combo I selected my images and cut them out. I added a few extra touches with some embossing and a little bow.
The final touch was the sentiment on the inside. I love this fun birthday sentiment. (Who doesn't love treats on their birthday - cake or otherwise).
A happy week to you all and thank you so much for visiting my little craft space today! I hope you can join us at Die Cuttin Divas this week.
Supplies:
- Pretty Pennants Cricut Cartridge - Cake pennant
- Sizzix embossing folder - Tim Holtz swirls
- Fiskars Make a Wish Quotes stamps

Sweet As Pie
As we get further and further into the fall I know many enjoying apple picking. This week at Bitten By the Bug 2 our hostess wants to see projects featuring apples so that is just right.
I thought...hmm apples make great pie and that is where my card started. I wanted the sentiment "Sweet as pie" but that was not in my library so...
I found 2 cuts and put them together after some contouring and slicing. I love that I can do this on Design Space.
Next for this card I played around with patterns - if you select print instead of cut you can go in and add patterns to your cuts. I thought this rolling pin would be better in a wood grain and the backing needed a table cloth feel. Such fun ways to play.
Thanks for visiting with me today. I hope you get a chance to play with us at Bitten By the Bug 2.
Supplies:
- Just Because Cards Cricut Cartridge - sweet as honey, sweetie pie, apple
- Country Life Cricut Cartridge - pie and rolling pin
- Hey Diddle Diddle Cricut Cartridge - pattern for back layer
- Snapshot fills in Cricut - wood grain
*Un-group image if needed and hide the things you want in the contours. Do the same with all images. I added PIE to the original ad used the slice feature to add it in. |

My Smiles Begin with You!
Good day all. Happy Tuesday. It is the first Tuesday of September and time for a new sketch challenge with Die Cuttin' Divas.
This fun card was made using our sketch for this week.
I wanted to use this sentiment stamp on my project so I found an image to fit it and this one seemed like a cute idea for my hubby.
A little print and cut and embossing for the added hearts not on the cut and my card was completed.
Hope you get a chance to play along with our fun sketch this week at DCD!
Supplies:
- Smiley Cards Cricut Cartridge - love faces
- Blast Off Cricut Cartridge (originally Imagine) heart pattern
- Cuttlebug Embossing folder

Spec-tacular
Welcome to September everyone. It is the first challenge of the month for Bitten By the Bug 2 and this week our host, Susan, asked us to use a pair of glasses on our projects.
I love the retro look of these glasses and they matched my sentiment stamp so well. I also really loved the added touch of this embossing folder.
All the stars on the project are the stars that are part of the glasses cut. I just made them bigger to add onto the card. Such fun. Hope you can join us this week at Bitten By the Bug 2.
Supplies:
- Nifty 50's Cricut Cartridge - glasses
- Pink By Design Spectacular stamp set
- Cuttlebug embossing folder - Traffic Jam
- Stickles - Star dust
